Where Lies Your Anchor?

Though the storms keep on raging in my life
And sometimes it’s hard to tell the night from day
Still, that hope that lies within is reassured
As I keep my eyes upon the distant shore
I know He’ll lead me safely to that blessed place He has prepared
But if the storms don’t cease
And if the winds keep on blowing
My soul has been anchored in the Lord………. by Douglas Miller.

Psalm 62:2 (KJV) He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved.

We all have to anchor our souls or lives in something that is higher than everything else in the world. Unchangeable and unmovable creation, which cannot change and move. The only one that is higher than all else in this life, the world and far above all is God. He is our Rock, Refuge, Strong Tower, and ever Dependable. Never moved nor shaken. When we have such a God, nothing else can shake us. In reality, life trials, storms, challenges, and sickness will come in our lives. But with Jesus by our sides, we will not be moved.

With this assurance of our stability in a God, who is not moved by storm nor situation. We can gladly say, “lead me to the Rock that is higher than I.” Psalm 61:2 (KJV) From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

Without knowing the Rock(God), and what He can do. One cannot confidently say, “lead me to a Rock that is higher than I.” And the establishment and stability upon this Rock is the only solution when the storms of life come our way. As one finds himself or herself sinking deep down in debt, sickness, pains, suffering, and hunger. The only way out is in reaching out your hands to the rock for help. If you don’t reach out to the Rock in time, the chaos of life may swallow you up.

In a world without the law of God, you have chaos, oppression, tyranny, and everyone doing what is right in their own eyes. Randall Terry.

In such a world that is full of all manner of evils. What else are we left with? Nothing, but God.  For our children and loved ones, where lie their hope and believe?  The hope of younger generation depends upon the older ones. When you are rooted and grounded in God as parents and adults. We will be able to rightly tell our kids, loved ones, and the younger generation that their lives could only make meaning, when their souls have been fully anchored in the Lord.

God is our Stay.
